DIPACO offers a training course for repairing Caterpillar fuel systems. The course covers Caterpillar new scroll type fuel systems including 3304, 3306, and 3406B as well as sleeve-metering fuel systems including 3208, 3304, and 3306 fuel pumps. The Caterpillar 7000 series injector is also covered in the course.

The course is designed to provide sufficient training and information to begin repairing the fuel pumps. They provide valuable information for technicians new to Caterpillar fuel systems as well as mechanics self-taught in Caterpillar repairs. The courses are taught by Rick Bumgardner, DIPACO Service Manager.

Each course combines classroom work and hands-on training using fuel pumps and service tools. Each course covers the following:
Pump removal and timing
Fuel system and governor operation
Technical information
Pump and governor disassembly
Service tools
Inspection
Pump and governor assembly
Fuel setting information
Test bench procedures.

The school cost is $400 per person. A $500 deposit is required to hold a school space. The difference between the $400 and your course cost will be refunded at the school. We have arranged lodging at either the Peppermill Hotel or Eldorado Hotel with room rates ranging between $40-$130 per night, depending on the time of year. DIPACO will provide transportation and lunch during the schools. The course runs Monday through Thursday, finishing around late afternoon on Thursday.

Space in each course is limited to a maximum of six students in order to provide maximum benefit. Spaces are allocated based on the first six deposits received.
